We caught up with Emma and Gage at the weekend to present their photos to them, they had been very excited to see them after seeing the sneak peek pictures!
Emma and Gage met 10 years ago when Gage was playing cricket with Emma’s brother and cricket still plays an important part in Gage’s life! They planned a lovely wedding and various members of the family were able to add their contribution, a relative grows flowers so they provided all the beautiful blooms which were then put together by Sheena of Oh My Dahlia! The cake was made by Emma’s brother’s girlfriend who is a professional cake maker. In fact she was so worried about the gravel road that leads down to Summerfields that she actually carried the cake down the road herself!
The ceremony was performed by Celebrant Felicity Kerr and as a surprise Emma and Gage asked his Aunt and Uncle to be their witnesses, Aunty Sharon was very overcome at this honour!
After the photo shoot we returned to the reception room for the evening festivities. The guests loved the photobooth and continued to dress up even on the dance floor! Emma and Gage had also taken dance lessons and performed a great dance designed by Dearne of Peninsula Wedding Dance. All too soon it was time to throw the bouquet and the garter and Emma and Gage exited to a sparkler send off!
It was lovely to be back at Summerfields and to be able to use some of the new areas they have opened up, such as the paths cut through the long grass. Even though we have shot there many times we always try to find a new angle for our couples, this helps to keep us fresh and try out some new ideas. We absolutely loved the long grass next to the dead tree and the overcast sky really added to the atmosphere for those images! Summerfields have also created a new apartment for the girls to get ready in, it is very spacious with lovely soft natural light and makes for some great photos!
Emma and Gage still have a couple of exciting things to look forward to as they are flying off to Thailand this week for their honeymoon and when they get back their new house should be ready to move into!
Thank you to Emma and Gage for asking us to be part of their special day, we had a wonderful time with all your friends and family. Congratulations and we wish you many happy years to come!
