Surrounded by family from Queensland and close local friends Joanne and Andrew were married on Rye beach a few weeks ago!
It was another, “what will it do?” weather day but thankfully it stayed dry so they could have their ceremony and photos on the beach and all their guests were able to enjoy an evening outside although it was a little chilly, so dancing had to be done to keep warm!
Joanne and Andrew had carefully chosen their ceremony location which not only had a backdrop of the colourful beach boxes but also just behind the beach is a magnificent avenue of Moonah trees which they love and wanted photos amongst, we were happy to oblige!
Joanne started off the day getting ready in the little cottage just across the road from their house! The cottage is purpose built and is a great place to get ready, Andrew and Joanne also spent their wedding night there whilst family took over their house!
Their day was very special as many their friends were part of the wedding, Elle from Elegant You did Jo’s hair and make-up, John from Peninsula Paella’s supplied the meal and also drove them in his beautiful Mustang! Celebrant Gayle Dean is also a friend of the family and had fortunately just moved back to her native Melbourne and performed a beautiful and thoughtful ceremony. The stunning colourful native flowers were supplied by Flowers by Ren. Their friends lent them their house for the reception which was right on the high point of Rye and surrounded by amazing views!
A feature of the reception was the very delicious looking cake table! Rather than stacking the cupcakes Jo had the idea of spreading them out so Andrew got cracking with the chainsaw and made all the tree trunk slices!
Paul from DJ Peter D Entertainment did a great job getting everyone up dancing to keep warm and carried on into the small hours!
As they both have busy jobs Joanne and Andrew escaped to the Gt Ocean Road for a couple of days to relax and recover from organising a wonderful wedding day!
Congratulations to you both!
